Terms of service
Plain-language summary: be respectful, you own your content and let us show it the way you've chosen, Shelfie is a beta, and Ontario law applies.
1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Stackset Technologies Inc. ("Stackset"). They apply to stackset.io, shelfie-app.ca and the Shelfie mobile application (together, the "Services"). By creating an account or using the Services you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Usernames are unique and permanent; choose one you can live with. We may reclaim usernames that impersonate others or are inactive.
3. Beta software
Shelfie is currently provided as a beta. Features may change, data may be reset with notice, and builds may expire. We appreciate your feedback and may use it to improve the Services without obligation to you.
4. Your content
You own what you post: collections, photos, videos, comments, reviews and messages. You grant Stackset a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and distribute that content solely to operate and promote the Services (for example, showing your public collection in a feed). This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies in backups for up to 30 days and content others have re-shared where the Services allow it.
You must have the rights to anything you post. Don't post content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that reveals someone else's private information.
5. Acceptable use
- No scraping, automated access, reverse engineering, or probing of our systems. Security research is welcome under our disclosure policy.
- No spam, undisclosed advertising, or fake engagement.
- No impersonation, and no circumventing blocks, mutes or privacy settings.
- Product reviews and ingredient analyses are user opinions and estimates, not medical or professional advice.
6. Catalogue, prices and links
Product information, prices and ingredient lists are compiled from public sources and user submissions and may be inaccurate or out of date. Links to retailers are provided for convenience; some may be affiliate links. Always check the retailer's listing and the product packaging. Stackset is not a seller of the products shown.
7. Our intellectual property
The Services, including software, design, trade marks ("Stackset", "Shelfie", "Clipforge", "Relayform", "Pantryloop") and editorial content, are owned by Stackset or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the apps on your devices in accordance with these Terms and the app store's rules.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for others, with notice where practical. Sections that by their nature should survive (content licence for backups, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) survive termination.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stackset disclaims all warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; in that case they apply to the maximum extent permitted.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, unless consumer-protection law in your place of residence gives you the right to another forum.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date is acceptance. Questions: legal@stackset.io.
